Swadeshi Promotion - YouTube

During the Marketing class at NITIE Mumbai, I came across the term - Responsible Marketing. Which got me to thinking how can we use this in our campaign "vocal for local" and market the Swadeshi Mandi event responsibly. I'm promoting various types of handlooms which are weaved in the central Indian region and are here for centuries. In this video, I have endorsed the Beautiful Bagh. During my research, I came to know that the Madhya Pradesh State government has already taken a few initiatives to endorse these art forms by organising various events in and around the region which brings the artists and customers on to a common platform and both benefit from it. I thought of leveraging the resources gathered by them and then take this initiative a step forward.

I went to the Madhya Pradesh Tourism office located at Bhopal and met with the Digital Library Incharge. I thought that I might have to put in a lot of effort to gather resources and data that will boost my research and help me contribute in a better way. The first question he asked me was where are you from, and what do you do? As soon as I told him that I'm a management student at NITIE, he immediately asked me, do you know Mandi Sir? I replied- Yes, I'm his student. For him NITIE = Mandi Sir. This is the power of Personal Branding. He told me that my future is secured and that I'm learning under the shadow of great professors. People recognise NITIE as an institute where Professor Prasad teaches.

I was provided with the valuable resources which helped me enhance my research. I analysed the raw data which was provided to me, did some number crunching, edited and assembled the photographs, updated the videos, wrote a script, then merged everything together and then I came up with a video. I have uploaded the video on YouTube and the link for the same is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C45WVzK6kog. I'm not a professional photographer/videographer, to complete this task I went through a few courses on Udemy and LinkedIn Learning and then applied that knowledge to come up with this video.

The video displays the process of how Bagh printing is done traditionally. According to the Bagh printer, some of the wooden blocks he still uses are around three-hundred years old. The video also displays what type of colours are used for printing and how they obtain these colours. The current customers are limited and the market is not growing despite. There is latent potential in this industry which needs to be tapped on.

Business communication is not just about fluent speaking capability it is more than that. Business communication is about sharing ideas and knowledge in a way that creates an impact. Our scintillating professor Mr Prasad broadened our vision and helped us understand that presentation skills, efficient report making, impactful personal branding, among others are an integral part of Business Communication. Professor Prasad challenges us daily which ultimately is helping us grow. From a person who never wrote a blog or didn't know how to make a poster/video, today I have successfully completed a few courses on these things and have published my articles as well. Mandi sir is helping me build my personal brand and is passing on the skills to us and laying the foundation for us to become the future business leaders.
